1The Siemens Art Gallery, which gives space to young talent and experimental work, explores contemporary life, and the various characteristic elements that emerge from it as a result of rapid change, in a new exhibition: 'Holes in the Mirror'.
The 'Mirror' is a metaphor for knowledge which is constructed by our perceptions of the visual world. The act of disbelief in the visual world, where nothing is certain, may be a common starting point for all artistic approaches. The artist who goes beyond the mirror by deconstructing and decomposing the known, may add the unseen to the field of contemporary art with a new and unique approach, and play an active role in the formation of a new society.
'Holes in the Mirror' underlines the idea that deconstruction, and decomposition in the field of art is an evolutionary process that creates new approaches.
The 'Holes in the Mirror' exhibition, which consists of works by Uluç Ali Kılıç; Yasemin Nur Toksoy; Ceren Oykut; Ergün Yıldız; Zeyno Pekünlü; and Arzu Berber, under the curation of Marcus Graf, can be visited at the Siemens Art Gallery, in Fındıklı, between the 12th March and the 28th April 2004.
