Many elite guests from Turkey and abroad attended the order ceremony at the consulate on Tuesday 21 October 2003, which started with a cocktail hosted by Consul General and his wife at the consulate. After the cocktail the Consul General gave the order to Dr. Zafer İncecik.

Dr. İncecik who has educated in Austrian High School and Vienna Technical University completed his doctoral studies in this university as well, deserved this order of merit as a result of his close relations with Austria and his contribution to strengthening the ties between Siemens Austria and Siemens Turkey.

Consul General Wechner emphasized the warm relations between these two countries in his speech and said:

"Dr. Zafer İncecik an Austrian friend because of his education in Austrian High School and higher education in Vienna, had a great contribution in forming the strategic partnership between Siemens Turkey and Siemens Austria. This partnership also enabled the peoples of two countries to come closer after the Turkish and Austrian employees formed close relations.

Dr. Zafer İncecik said the order of merit represented his 50 yearlong connections to the Austrian culture and thought and he felt proud and honored because of this order of merit he received.
