The candidates will be able to participate to the 5th Siemens Opera Contest under the soprano, mezzo-soprano, tenor, and baritone and bas voice categories with a total of 6 opera arias, one of them being classical. The contest is open to all talented competitors who were born after January 1st, 1973. The information about the contest can be obtained from www.siemens.com.tr

The winner of the contest will gain one year of scholarship at the Karlsruhe Opera and 4 months of scholarship at the Goethe Institute in Istanbul. The first runner-up of the contest will gain summer scholarship of 6 weeks at the Salzburg Mozarteum Music Academy and 2 months of scholarship at the Goethe Institute in Istanbul and the second runner-up will gain 2000 Euro.

The evaluation will be done in three phases, comprising of preliminary elimination, semi final and final. The jury will be composed of Opera Director Dr. Yekta Kara, State Artist Mete Uğur, Dresden Opera General Art Director Prof. Gerd Uecker, Karlsruhe Opera General Art Director Achim Thorwald, Siemens representative Mrs. Özen Incecik .

By gaining traditional characteristic due to the interest of the art lovers, Siemens Art Award is being organised since 1993 in the fields of painting, design, photography, statue and short film and is being organised in the field of " opera" during the last four years.
