The results of the contest, which 62 young talents have competed, have been announced at the ceremony held at Consulate General of Germany. Şafak Güç has been ranked as first at the contest while Erdem Erdoğan has been the second and Melih Tepretmez is the third runner up besides Mehlika Karadeniz has taken the honorable mention award.
The winner of the contest Şafak Güç has been entitled with one year scholarship at Karlsruhe Opera and 4 month scholarship for German course at Goethe Institut Istanbul; the second runner up Erdem Erdoğan has won six weeks summer scholarship at Salzburg Mozarteum Music Academy and two weeks scholarship for German course at Goethe Institut Istanbul and the third runner up Melih Tepretmez has taken 2000 euros while Mehlika Karadeniz, winner of the honorable mention prize, has received 1000 euros.
Opera Director, Associate Professor Yekta Kara, the state artist Mete Uğur, General Art Director of Dresden Opera, Prof. Gerd Uecker, General Art Director of Karlsruhe Opera Achim Thorwald and Representative of Siemens Özen İncecik were the members of the jury for evaluation, which has been completed in three steps as pre- elimination, semi final and final.
Siemens Art Awards, which has become traditional because of the high interest of art lovers and organized at painting, pattern design, photography, sculpture and short film branches since 1993, is being arranged for "Opera" for the last four years.
