As part of its efforts to increase its competitive power and create added value for its customers, Siemens IT Solutions and Services is implementing its decision to build an operations center in Anatolia in the city of Düzce.
The decision to launch the project was a result of preliminary analyses and pilot studies which demonstrated that Düzce was an appropriate location due to its potential and quality in human resources. Siemens plans to provide employment at first for 300 people of the ages 20-29 in the new operations center. With the project, Siemens seeks to contribute to the economy of the province in the long run.
The Siemens Düzce Operations Center was inaugurated with a ceremony yesterday. The opening, which was attended by Siemens A.Ş General Manager Hüseyin Gelis, Siemens IT Solutions and Services Director Ali Rıza Ersoy, Düzce Governor Bülent Kılınç and Düzce Deputy Mayor Bayram Bayraktar, attracted the great interest of the Düzce citizens.
Speaking at the ceremony, Düzce Governor Bülent Kılınç; said, "Düzce needed an investment project of this kind. I thank Siemens for its faith in the people of Düzce and for this investment. The investment now belongs as much to the people of Düzce as it does to Siemens." Kılınç continued to say: "Our young people will be working even harder now to contribute to the success of this very significant investment of Siemens and to increase the number of projects that will be undertaken in Düzce."
Also speaking at the ceremony, Siemens A.Ş. General Manager Hüseyin Gelis remarked that there would be 300 young people between the ages of 20-29 working on the project at the outset, adding, "We are planning to eventually increase this number according to need. We are very happy to have created a new project that will contribute first to the economy of Düzce and secondly to the general economy of Turkey."
Using the method of outsourcing to provide its services since 1997, Siemens IT Solutions and Services found the potential of the province of Düzce to be promising in the preliminary analyses and pilot studies that were carried out. The decision was thus made to launch a "business processes outsourcing" operation in this province as well.
