Siemens' Kartal factory, which celebrates its 50th anniversary this year, started production in 1961. Before moving to the Kartal production site, Siemens had a small office in Fındıklı. Since then the production site has grown exponentially in line with the Turkish economic growth, now covering a total factory area of 63,900 m2.

Siemens, which operates globally in the field of electronic and electrical engineering for the industrial, energy and health sector, celebrated the 50th anniversary of its production site with an exclusive event to which all of the Kartal employees and their relatives were invited. All participates enjoyed an excellent show, which included drama and drawing activities for the children, and a performance by the Industrial Climbing Team of the Search and Rescue Association of Turkey (AKUT), which spread the 50th anniversary banner over the Siemens Building, for the adults.

Siemens General Manager, Hüseyin Gelis, gave a speech before his colleagues, "Fifty years ago, everything was imported to our country. There was no production of nails, screws or even metal sheets; a customer could wait up to one year before the arrival of these products from abroad. Today, our factory exports to a total of 80 countries in five continents. We have built this plant from scratch, and it is now an example for the rest of the world. Together, we have written the story of a large enterprise that was a pioneer in the foundation of the Turkish electrical industry".

Following the speech of the Siemens General Manager Hüseyin Gelis, an awards ceremony for the Sports Festival Summer Games, in which all Siemens employees participated, was held. The winners in each category were handed their award by Mr.Gelis. The event was concluded with a concert by the famous actress and singer Hale Caneroğlu.
