Selection Board

Derya Yücel (1979, Istanbul) is an independent curator, art critic and lecturer. She is a member of AICA Turkey (International Art Critics Organization). She graduated from Art Management program of Yıldız Technical University and her master's degree on Museum Studies. She continues to work on her PhD at the department of Art History at Istanbul University. She teaches at Istanbul Culture University since 2006 and Istanbul Bilgi University since 2009, Art and Design Faculties as a part-time lecturer. She has curated many national/international solo and group exhibitions and has written art articles for magazines/newspapers since 2004. She organized the 6th and 7th Korean-Turkish exchange exhibitions in Incheon, Seoul and Istanbul. She was the curator of the "Save As… Contemporary Art from Turkey" exhibition organized in collaboration with Santralistanbul and Trienale Bovisa in Milan/Italy, 2008. Her book titled "New Media Art and the New Museology" was published by Istanbul Culture University in 2012. She worked as editor and writer for the Nil Yalter artist monography published 2013 by Galerist, İstanbul and İrfan Önürmen artist monography published 2015 by C24 New York.

Murat Germen is an artist using photography as an expression / research tool. He has an MArch degree from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where he went as a Fulbright scholar and received AIA Henry Adams Gold Medal for academic excellence. Works as a professor of art, photography and new media at Sabanci University in Istanbul. Having many articles / photo series published on architecture / photography / art / new media at various magazines / books; he has been accepted to several symposia / conferences like SIGGRAPH, ISEA, Mutamorphosis, Towards a Science of Consciousness, CAe, CAC2, EVA-London, eCAADe, ASCAAD to lecture on pertinent topics. Has opened over seventy inter/national (Turkey, USA, Italy, Germany, UK, Mexico, Portugal, Uzbekistan, Greece, Japan, Russia, Iran, India, France, Canada, Bahrain, Korea, Dubai, China, Sweden, Switzerland, Egypt) exhibitions. The artist and his artistic work is represented by artON Istanbul in Turkey, ARTITLEDcontemporary in the Netherlands-Belgium and Rosier Gallery in San Francisco. More than 300 editions of the artist's several artworks are in personal collections of eminent art collectors inter/nationally, in addition to a few that are in Istanbul Modern's and Proje4L Elgiz Museum of Contemporary Art (Istanbul) collections.

Petrit Halilaj, born in 1986 in Skenderaj, Kosovo, lives and works in Kosovo, Berlin and Man¬tua. He has already rep¬re¬sented his coun¬try at the 55th Venice Bien¬nale (Pavil¬ion of the Repub¬lic of Kosovo, 2013), won the Ettore Fico Prize in the last edi¬tion of Artis¬sima 2013 and has been involved in an exten¬sive per¬sonal exhi¬bi¬tion at WIELS Cen¬trum voor Kunst Heden¬daagse in Brus¬sels enti¬tled "Poi¬soned by men in need of some love". In 2014, he took part in a res¬i¬dence at Villa Romana, Florence.

T. Melih Görgün, He lives and works in Istanbul and Sinop. Independent curator, artist, working on cultural studies, performances and city and art. He works as a curator on research based and participative references interdisciplinary projects, with a focus on difference, memory, identity, cultural codes. Professor at the Mimar Sinan University of Fine Arts in Istanbul. He is the founder of the SINOPALE International Sinop Biennial, which is the title of an international project that, in the context of local development, draws the civil society together with the purpose of building dialogue through culture and arts, within the framework of the model of "artistic production based on sharing."

He realized different performances in Oratorio di San Ludovico, Venice, Museums Quartier Wien, Maximilian Platz München, in ZhDK, Zürich. He curated exhibitions in Turkey and abroad. He is one of the entrepreneur of an international cooperation project "City and Art" which is realized with several art academies from London, Vienna, München, Den Haag, Halle- Burg Giebchenstein, Venice, Malmö. Since 2007 he is the co-curator of Siemens Sanat.
