An exhibition from Siemens Sanat that brings disparate worlds together: 'Other Worlds'

Siemens Sanat turns a new artistic chapter this season with an exhibition titled 'Other Worlds' (Başka Dünyalar). Curated by Mürteza Fidan and T. Melih Görgün, the exhibition compromises of works by Roza El-Hassan, Tamas Ozsvald and Youssef Tabti. Inviting art lovers and artists alike; the exhibition will take place through the dates September 29, 2010 until November 23, 2010.

Mürteza Fidan, one of the curators of the show remarks, ''What is to become essential (for the show) is to become conscious of intercultural differences and to see whether the creative subject can turn self-assessment into a tool of self-awareness. ''The exhibition is compromised of works done in various media; from photography to design, installation to sculpture and video.'' Fidan continues, ''What is essential is not whether the artists are in harmony with each other or in relation to another but what is of essence is the experience of passing from one work to another, the formation and fragmentation of the works and what kind of stance they engender within the viewer.''

Roza El-Hassan known to the art world through her performances dealing with issues such as social order and societal prejudices, participates in this exhibition with a series of works produced by El-Hassan while residing in Turkey will also be included in an attempt to create a retrospective of various periods in the artist's career.

Tamas Oszvald comes to us with an unusual installation project consisting of an assembly of various objects. The artist borrowed these objects from a variety of people residing in Istanbul and has assembled them inside the gallery for the viewer to interact with.

Youssef Tabti enriches the exhibition with his videos and installations that establish strong bonds between space, auditory and visual elements.

The exhibition was made possible with the kind support of Euromessage, Intercity, Garanti Bank, Madebycat, OSRAM, Ran Logistics and Siemens Home Appliances.
